Our parents raised us and our 5 siblings on a small farm where we raised vegetables and meat. We all had to work the garden and take care of the animals. We were taught to can and butcher and put up all of our own food for the winter. As adults we decided we would like to make it a living and were soon planning and planting to sell at the local farmer's market. Heidi and Angela attended their first Farmer's Market in Cortez in the summer of 2006 and pretty soon the farm was going full steam. Heidi quit her job in 2008 and made the farm a full time business with her mother Judy. In 2009 we changed markets from Cortez to Durango. Later Angela quit her job and joined the family operation in 2016.
Our farm is operated using natural methods and we use heirloom seeds whenever possible. We love growing a large variety of things and like to try interesting or odd veggies and fruits. |
